What changed about life after the Garden of Eden?

After the Garden of Eden, life became the opposite of garden living. Humanity faced the curse: opposition from nature, weeds, thistles, briars, thorns, and insects. The easy, sinless, beautiful lifestyle with no opposition ended. Though the format of life changed drastically, God Himself did not change.

Les teaches that God has repeatedly changed the format of human history while He Himself never changes. He points back to the Garden of Eden as a prime example. In the garden, life was easy—no sin, no opposition, no weeds, no thorns; it was a beautiful lifestyle. After the garden, life became just the opposite. People were confronted with all the opposition of nature, weeds, thistles, briars, thorns, and insects. Les identifies this as the curse, a totally different condition. Yet he stresses that God had not changed; God hasn't changed. This pattern continues as Les later draws the analogy of the flood, when God again set up a different economy for man.
