Les Feldick Bible Study

What does the gospel of grace free us from?

The gospel of grace frees us from dietary rules and regulations and from the distinction between Jew and Gentile. It establishes that there is now no difference between Jew and Gentile, removing the regulations that once separated them. Peter was not yet ready to recognize this.

Les teaches that the gospel of grace, which is Paul's gospel, sets believers free from dietary rules and regulations. It also removes the distinction between Jew and Gentile, so that there is now no difference between them. However, Peter was not yet ready to recognize this truth. Les points out that near the end of his life, shortly before he and Paul were martyred, Peter wrote by inspiration in II Peter 3:15-16, calling Paul his beloved brother and acknowledging that Paul wrote according to the wisdom given to him. Les finds this enlightening because Peter had years of contact with Paul and his message before he fully understood.

Galatians 2:14
