What frees us from the law of sin and death?

Scripture teaches that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus makes one free from the law of sin and death. This is the fact of life in Christ Jesus, not the Mosaic Law, which was weak through the flesh.

Les explains that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the fact of life that sets a person free from the law of sin and death. The Mosaic Law, the Ten Commandments, could not do this because it was weak through the flesh. God, however, sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, and condemned old Adam in the flesh, so that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled. From God's viewpoint the law was perfect, expressing His mind for mankind's benefit; but from the human standpoint it was weak and a yoke.

Romans 8:2

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
