Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the Creator of the universe and the God of creation, the same God of Genesis 1:1 who called everything into being. He took on flesh, went to the cross, and as God in Christ paid the sin debt of every human being.
Les explains that a gentleman once came to his ranch and asked, “Who in the world is Jesus Christ anyway?” Les calls that the best question, because the answer is that He is the Creator of the universe and the God of creation. He is the same God of Genesis 1:1 who called everything into being, but He took on flesh and went the way of the cross. Les also emphasizes that God was in Christ on the cross: it was the Creator of the universe who hung there. He had to be the God of creation, or He could never have tasted death for every man or paid the sin debt of every human being. Paul tells us God was in Christ, reconciling the world back to Himself after He lost it in Adam, not imputing their trespasses unto them.
