What does God expect from us after we receive salvation as a free gift?
After receiving salvation as a free gift, God expects believers to go to work and work for reward. We are not saved to sit but saved to serve. Every believer has been given something to use as a gift, and that service precipitates rewards at the behemoth seat of Christ.
Les explains that salvation is a gift of God, but once we become recipients of that gift, God logically expects us to go to work and work for reward. The whole idea is that we are not saved to sit; we are saved to serve, and this will be brought about at the behemoth seat of Christ. Les also warns not to confuse rewards with crowns, since he does not think the crowns—such as the crown of righteousness and the crown of life—are the same as the rewards from the behemoth seat. Rewards are what we receive as a result of the things done in the body during this earthly sojourn. Paul listed gifted men given to the church, and not everybody has the same gift or works in the same area for reward, but every believer has something. No matter who you are, old or young, God has given you something that can be used as a gift, and it can precipitate your rewards. Paul alludes to this in I Corinthians chapter 9 by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
