Why must we believe the Scripture, and what does God call that belief?

We must believe the Scripture because it cannot lie, and God will hold us accountable for believing His Word. God calls that belief faith, and without faith it is impossible to please Him. God asks, "Do you believe My Word?"

Les teaches that the Scripture does not lie and cannot lie, so we have to believe it because this is what God is going to hold us accountable for. God asks, "Do you believe My Word?" and He calls that belief faith; without faith it is impossible to please Him. Les says it all rolls together. He then carries the thought to Colossians 2, where Paul writes that we were dead in our sins and in the uncircumcision of our flesh—pagan Gentiles—but God has quickened us together with Christ. When Christ died, we died; when He arose, we arose to newness of life, having been forgiven every trespass, already forgiven. Les stresses that when Christ died, He died for all the world's sins and tasted death for every man.
