Why must we believe the Bible?

We must believe the Bible because Scripture cannot lie, and God will hold us accountable for whether we believe His Word. He calls that faith, and without faith it is impossible to please Him; faith in His Word is required.

Les teaches that Scripture does not lie and cannot lie, so we have to believe it because God will hold us accountable for believing His Word. He asks, 'Do you believe My Word?' and calls that faith, and without faith it is impossible to please Him. Les then goes to Colossians 2, where Paul writes that those who were dead in sins and uncircumcised in flesh have been quickened together with Christ. When Christ died, we died; when He arose, we arose to newness of life. He has forgiven all trespasses—past, present, and future. This confirms the trustworthiness of Scripture and the salvation it proclaims, giving further reason to believe it.
