Will people naturally seek after God on their own?
No. Mankind will never, of his own volition, go looking for God; it is contrary to human makeup. This has never changed. Adam and Eve hid, and God had to find them. God must make the first move, though the door remains at ground level for all.
Les explains that when Adam and Eve sinned, they hid from God, and God had to find them. This pattern has never changed. Mankind, of his own volition, will never go looking for God because it is contrary to our makeup. God must make the first move. However, Les clarifies that this does not mean extreme Calvinism, where God has already picked who He will save. The work of the cross was sufficient for everybody. The door to the sheepfold is at ground level, not beyond the reach of anybody, but it still has to begin with God.
