how does human nature operate until God comes into a person's life?
Human nature takes out its frustrations on those beneath it because it cannot compete against those above. That is how the whole human makeup operates until the power of a sovereign God comes into that life. Society then pushes God out of thinking, schools, and home, and decries the results.
Les explains that human nature acts like a child who pulls the wings off a butterfly: it must vent its feelings on something beneath because it cannot compete against those above. This is exactly how the whole human makeup operates until the power of a sovereign God comes into that life. When society pushes God out of its thinking, schools, and home, it then decries the things that are going on. These traits, including alcoholism, continue generation after generation, just as Scripture said 1,500 years before Christ.
