Les Feldick Bible Study

Do you have to work to be dead to sin and old Adam?

No, being dead to sin and the old Adam is not something you work for or attain. It is the result of God's saving power, as the old Adam is crucified and believers become dead to its desires through identification with Christ's crucifixion.

Les teaches that those who have let old Adam be crucified are now dead to the desires of that old Adam. This is not something you work for or try to attain; it is all part of the power of God when exercised in His saving salvation. He further explains that if we be dead with Christ by identification with the crucifixion, we believe that we shall also live with Him. Christ died unto sin once to rid us of old Adam, and that once-for-all sacrifice satisfies for all eternity.

Romans 6:7

For he that is dead is freed from sin.
