What will happen to our body one of these days, regardless of age?
One of these days, regardless of age, this body will suddenly be gone, and we will be clothed upon with that which is immortal. That new body will be far better, never again experiencing pain, sickness, a cold, or mortality—being prone to die.
Les explains that while we are still in this tabernacle—still in the flesh and burdened—we are not so much looking forward to being unclothed, with soul and spirit separated from the body. Rather, the prospect is that as soon as this body has quit functioning and is no longer necessary, we have a new one, far better. It will never again have pain, sickness, or even a cold. Les says this is coming and we are getting close. He tells young people the same thing as older folk: one of these days this body, whether young, old, or in between, is suddenly going to be gone, and we will be clothed upon with that which is immortal. Mortality means being prone to die, and lives full of vigor can suddenly be gone in a split second, as happens on highways every day; we never know who is next.
For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
