How is the resurrection body like the body we have now?

The resurrection body is like the present body because it retains all the outward features we have now, allowing recognition. Yet it is a spiritual body, raised in resurrection power: flesh and bone rather than flesh and blood, with the Spirit as its life source and eternal life instead of three score and ten.

Les explains that the resurrection body is sown a natural body, born of the flesh, but raised a spiritual body. Although the natural and spiritual bodies are eons apart, they are still a lot alike because believers will have all the same outward features they have now. We will not enter eternity in flesh and blood, but in flesh and bone, with the Spirit as our life source. Instead of the promised three score and ten, we will have eternal life. The context also ties this to recognition: just as Peter, James, and John recognized Moses and Elijah, believers will recognize loved ones and know everyone by name with full knowledge.
