What will our resurrection body be like?
Our resurrection body will be a new spiritual body, fashioned after Christ's resurrected body. It will not be the old corrupt physical body of flesh and blood placed in the grave, which is prone to disease and failure. Instead, it comes forth in resurrection power, unlike corruption.
Les explains that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, and corruption cannot inherit incorruption. The body buried is the old physical body, already corrupt and prone to disease and failures. But when it comes out in resurrection power, it will be a new body, fashioned after Christ’s body. He contrasts this with Christ’s resurrected spiritual body, which does not go back into the tomb, and points to Paul’s prayer for believers in Ephesians 1:18.
