Why did Jesus eat broiled fish and honeycomb after His resurrection?

He ate the broiled fish and honeycomb in full view of the ten disciples to prove He was a visible, resurrected Person, not merely a spirit. It demonstrated that He had physical attributes, including the ability to eat, and confirmed He had flesh and bones as they could see.

Les explains that Jesus asked, "Do you have any food?" and they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and a piece of honeycomb. He took it and ate it in full view of these ten disciples to prove to them that He was a visible resurrected Person and that He had all the physical attributes of even being able to eat. This connects with verse 39, where He says a spirit does not have flesh and bones as He had. Later, He opened their understanding of the Scriptures so they understood that the Son of God must come in the flesh, suffer, die, shed His blood as the supreme sacrifice for men's sin, and be raised from the dead.

Luke 24:42
