Why did the resurrected Jesus eat fish and honeycomb in front of His disciples?
The resurrected Christ ate broiled fish and honeycomb in full view of the disciples as proof positive that He was a visible, physical, resurrected Person, not a disembodied spirit. It demonstrated He had flesh and bones and all physical attributes, including the ability to eat.
Les teaches that after the resurrection, the disciples still could not believe for joy that it was really the same Jesus. He had already shown them His hands and feet, then He asked, "Have you any food?" as the proof positive. They gave Him a piece of broiled fish and a piece of honeycomb, and He ate it in full view of the ten disciples. This proved He was a visible resurrected Person with all the physical attributes, even the ability to eat. Les notes their last view of Him on the cross was so disfigured He did not even appear human, which made the bodily proof necessary.
And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
And he took it, and did eat before them.
