Which religion teaches resurrection, and is Christianity unique in having a doctrine of resurrection?
Only the Christian faith teaches resurrection as that term is understood; no other religion—Greek mythology, Eastern religions, or cults—has a doctrine of resurrection. They may hold reincarnation, but that is not the same. Christianity is therefore unique in promoting the resurrection, which is the believer’s hope.
Les explains that Christianity is not a religion, but he uses that term for the rest of the world’s beliefs. He says there is not a single religion on earth—not in Greek mythology, not in the Eastern religions, not in any of the religions of the cults—that has a doctrine concerning resurrection. They have reincarnation, but that is not the same. Only the Christian faith promotes the resurrection as we understand it, and that is what makes it unique. The whole hope for the believer is the resurrection, which is why Paul makes so much of it in chapter 15.
