Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens to the residue of the Gentile empires when Christ returns?

At Christ’s return, the residue of the Gentile empires is crushed and broken to pieces, becoming like chaff on a summer threshing floor. The wind blows it away, so it dissipates and disappears. The returning Christ then establishes His Kingdom, and a 75-day period cleanses the earth of all residue.

Les explains that after Christ returns, He crushes the residue of all these Gentile empires; He crushes the armies of the Antichrist in Armageddon and totally destroys the planet, with every city falling in a matter of hours. The iron, clay, brass, silver, and gold are broken to pieces together and become like the chaff of the summer threshing floor. Les compares chaff to something light that the wind can blow away and dissipate. Thus the residue of these great Gentile empires will literally be blown away with the Second Coming, disappearing like chaff carried by the wind. Then the stone that smote the image—the returning Christ—becomes a great mountain and fills the whole earth, setting up His Kingdom. Les notes that before resurrected Jewish believers are brought in and Israel receives the fulfillment of all their Old Testament promises, these 75 days will prepare for the Kingdom economy and cleanse the earth of all residue, making it beautiful.

Daniel 2:35

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
