Les Feldick Bible Study

What will happen to the Gentile empires when the stone comes?

When the stone not cut with hands comes, it will destroy all the residue of those previous Gentile kingdoms. That stone is Christ in His second coming, and it will fill the whole earth. The great image depicted the Gentile empires coming down through history, but the stone will bring them to an end.

Les explains that in Daniel chapter 2, Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the great image—with the head of gold, chest of silver, belly of brass, legs of iron, and feet of iron and clay mixed—depicted all the great Gentile empires coming down through history. In verse 35, the stone not cut with hands will come and destroy all the residue of those previous Gentile kingdoms, and then it will fill the whole earth. Les reminds us that Christ is always the stone and the rock of Scripture, so this is Christ in His second coming.

Daniel 2:35

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
