Les Feldick Bible Study

Why are believers no longer subject to judgment about meat, drink, or sabbath days?

Because the handwriting of ordinances against us was blotted out and nailed to His cross. Since the law is satisfied, believers are no longer under it. Those rules about meat, drink, holy days, new moons, and sabbath days belong to Judaism and the Law, which are now behind us and are only a shadow.

Les teaches from Colossians 2 that Christ blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us and contrary to us, took it out of the way, and nailed it to His cross. Having spoiled principalities and powers, He triumphed over them in His work of the cross. Therefore, since the law is satisfied, we are no longer under it, and no man should judge us in meat, drink, respect of a holy day, new moon, or sabbath days. Les explains that this flashes back to Judaism and the Law, which are all behind us and have been nailed to His cross. Those things are a shadow.

Colossians 2:16
