Why were believers no longer under the kingdom economy, the law, and temple worship?

Believers were no longer under the kingdom economy, the law, or temple worship because the cross made all the difference: Christ had died, been buried, and risen from the dead. Those former arrangements had been set aside, and the way of God was now expounded more completely through what Paul had taught.

Les explains that Priscilla and Aquila took Apollos unto themselves and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly, or more completely. The word "expound" means detail by detail, and Paul's similar word "communicate" means leaving no stone unturned so it is clearly understood. They were telling him everything they had learned from Paul, and what Paul taught them was that the cross now made all the difference in the world. They were no longer under the kingdom economy, no longer under the law, and no longer under temple worship, because all that had been set aside since Christ had died, been buried, and risen from the dead. Later, when Apollos was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote exhorting the disciples to receive him, and when he came he helped much, for they had now believed through grace. His whole mind had been opened up. At Corinth, Apollos preached and taught much the same thing Paul did, but with a little more Jewish flavor because he had been steeped in the teachings of John the Baptist, and many Corinthian believers were glued to Apollos and were going to listen to him rather than Paul.
