Why did Paul go to see Peter after three years?
After three years, Paul went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, not to learn everything Peter knew, but to share with Peter some of the new revelations and mysteries that were beginning to unfold. He had spent three years in Arabia at Mount Sinai receiving revelation before taking the message of grace to the Gentiles.
Les explains that Paul did not confer with flesh and blood—the twelve—nor go back to Jerusalem to them who were apostles before him; instead, he went into Arabia, to Mount Sinai. After three years of experience at Mount Sinai in the desert, he was ready to take the message of grace to the Gentile world. Then, after three years, he went up to Jerusalem to see Peter. By that time he had all these revelations, and the mysteries were beginning to unfold. He could now go see Peter, not to learn everything Peter knew, but to share with Peter some of these new revelations. As Les often said, Peter never did get them all; Peter never could comprehend all these revelations that the Apostle Paul had received.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
