What did God promise Israel in Exodus 19?

In Exodus 19, God promised Israel that if they were obedient, they would be a kingdom of priests unto Him. He also declared them a treasure above all people because all the earth is His. This meant Israel was to be a prepared go-between for the pagan world.

Les explains that God intended this little nation to be a particular people of value, whom He could use to reach the pagans. Because all the earth belongs to Him and He is Sovereign, He made Israel an intrinsic treasure to Himself. Then comes the promise: if they would be obedient, they would be unto Him a kingdom of priests. Les emphasizes that a priest is a go-between, so every Jew was to be a prepared person to someday stand between the pagan world around them and Israel's God.

Exodus 19:6

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
