What will our resurrected bodies look like?
Resurrected bodies will be new, immortal, heavenly, eternal bodies that look normal by all human outward appearances. They will not look weird or like a Hollywood concoction, but will resemble the Lord Jesus during the forty days after His resurrection, appearing ordinary and human while possessing immortality.
Les teaches that the resurrected body will not be bizarre. He points to Mary, who in the semi-darkness thought Jesus was a gardener because she could not define His features. The disciples also did not know who He was; He looked like just another person, and He ate with them. He had all the outward appearances of another human being, yet He was now immortal—able to go through the wall or ceiling and be transported instantly. Les says even the speed of light will become nothing for us in the immortal and eternal state. We will no longer be tied to this old earth or be simple monuments of clay. We will have new, resurrected, immortal, heavenly, eternal bodies. We will not look weird or like something out of some Hollywood concoction, but will look just as normal from all human outward appearances as the Lord Jesus did in those forty days from His resurrection until His ascension.
