Les Feldick Bible Study

How should you approach someone with whom you disagree or who is unsaved?

Approach them with love, patience, and understanding, while never compromising the truth. Do not tell a hell-bound person that unless they do certain things they will go to hell, because that immediately closes their mind. Instead, follow Paul’s example of coming in a spirit of love.

Les teaches that you should approach someone you disagree with, or someone who is unsaved, with the same attitude Paul used: love, patience, and understanding, without compromising the truth. He shares a letter from a lady in Minnesota who said that even though she came from a different background and sometimes heard things she could not yet agree with, she was never offended by what he taught. That is his goal—to say things contrary to what people have been taught without making offense. Les warns that if you go up to someone you know is hell-bound and say, “Unless you do such and such, you’re going to go to hell,” you will close their mind right then. You do not do that to people. Instead, you approach them with the whole attitude the Apostle uses of love, patience, and understanding, while not compromising the truth in the process.
