Les Feldick Bible Study

Is it worth trading eternity for a few years of the fast lane?

No, it is not worth it. The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God abides forever. Gambling eternal life for 15 or 20 years of the fast lane is a bad trade.

Les explains from 1 John 2:15-17 that loving the world and the things in it means the love of the Father is not in him. The desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life are not of the Father but are of the world. The whole world system is going to pass away, and its desires will pass with it, but the one who does the will of God abides forever. Les has repeatedly warned young people not to gamble their eternity for 15 or 20 years of the fast lane, saying it is not worth it.

1 John 2:17

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
