How does a full human lifetime compare to eternity?

A full human lifetime, even 70, 80, or 90 years lived with the speed and enjoyment of a 25- or 30-year-old, is negligible compared to eternity. Eternity consists of billions upon billions upon billions of years, making the longest human lifespan infinitesimal by comparison.

Les explains that even if a person could live a whole 70-, 80-, or 90-year lifetime at the speed and enjoyment of a 25- or 30-year-old, it is nothing compared to the billions upon billions upon billions of years of eternity. He says that eternity is coming, and Scripture has been left with us to prepare us for it. He also warns that materialism and good times can keep young people in the dark, though he notes that enjoying life does not require getting drunk. The passage further teaches that believers, having been risen with Christ, are given new life and will live forever in His presence.
