What should Christians do instead of taking a brother to court?

Christians should settle disputes within the congregation, letting a wise brother judge between them, rather than going to law before unbelievers. Paul says they should be willing to take the wrong and suffer themselves to be defrauded instead of bringing such cases before the world's courts.

Les explains that Paul rebukes the Corinthian believers for going to law before unbelievers. There were wise men in the congregation who could judge between brethren, but they were taking disputes to the city courts instead. Paul calls this a fault and asks why they would not rather take the wrong and suffer themselves to be defrauded. Les notes that this brought shame to Christianity and that Corinth was no different from America today. The proper course is to let the church handle such matters rather than the world's courts.

1 Corinthians 6:7

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
