Les Feldick Bible Study

When a Christian sins, are they still under the blood and protected like Israel was in Egypt?

Yes. Even when believers sin, they remain under the blood, just as Israel in Egypt was protected and the death angel could not touch them. Their sin is still forgiven and they are still cleansed, though this assurance is not a license; they must still receive that cleansing.

Les teaches that this is a glorious assurance: even when we sin, we are under the blood, just like Israel was in Egypt, and nothing could touch them—the death angel could not touch them. Believers have to find themselves there. But Les stresses that this is not licensed; God’s grace is not licensed. Just because we have the promise and assurance that if we sin we are still forgiven and still cleansed, we now have to have that cleansing. He then directs attention to 1 John chapter 2, where not only is He our advocate, He is our propitiation.
