Les Feldick Bible Study

Does a believer remain under the blood when they sin?

Yes. Scripture assures believers that even when they sin, they remain under the blood, just as Israel in Egypt was protected and the death angel could not touch them. This is not a license to sin, for God's grace is not licensed. They are still forgiven and cleansed, but they must have that cleansing.

Les teaches that this is a glorious assurance: even when we sin, we are under the blood, just like Israel back in Egypt, and nothing could touch them; the death angel could not touch them. He stresses that this is not licensed, because God's grace is not licensed. Just because we know we have this promise and assurance that if we sin, we are still forgiven and still cleansed, we now have to have that cleansing. He also points to 1 John chapter 2, where Christ is our advocate and propitiation.
