How did Paul apply the Passover to the church age?
Paul applied Passover to the church age by identifying Christ as our Passover, crucified on the Roman cross. As the Passover lamb's blood sheltered Israel from the death angel, Christ's shed blood covers believers, so coming under that blood they are passed over from judgment.
Les teaches that Paul carries the Passover picture all the way into the church age. In Egypt, Israel huddled in small huts, but if they were people of faith they did not fear the death angel, because the blood was on the door and they were covered. Paul applies that to Christ as our Passover: when Christ died on the Roman cross, His blood was shed. Today the crucial point of the blood is often left out. When we come under that blood, we are passed over from any judgment, secure because the blood covers us.
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
