Who is the Passover Paul speaks of in 1 Corinthians 5:7?

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 5:7 that Christ is our Passover, saying, “For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.” The Passover Paul speaks of is therefore Christ Himself, not merely the Old Testament feast. The Exodus Passover becomes a lesson for believers, because Christ is the fulfillment and sacrifice pictured by it.

Les teaches that in 1 Corinthians 5:7 Paul refers to Christ our Passover. Paul tells believers to purge out the old leaven so they may be a new lump, as they are unleavened, and then states, “For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.” Les ties this back to chapter 10, where Israel ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ. Paul uses the Exodus out of Egypt as a lesson for the Corinthians and for us.
