What will God yet do for the nation of Israel according to Romans?
According to Romans 11:25, God is not through with Israel. He will yet return to the nation, fulfill every promise made to Israel, and remove Israel's partial blindness when the fullness of the Gentiles is brought in. Israel remains the vehicle through whom God will ultimately bless the Gentiles.
Les teaches that Romans 11 is the great chapter where Paul makes it certain God is not through with the nation of Israel. Although much literature claims otherwise, Scripture says God is still going to return one day—and we think it is getting soon—and He will fulfill everything He promised to Israel. Paul calls this a mystery or secret, previously held in God's mind and revealed to him: Israel's blindness is only in part and not forever, lasting until the fullness of the Gentiles is brought in. The Old Testament understood God would save Gentiles, but not that it would be without Israel; Israel was to be the obedient kingdom of priests who evangelized the Gentiles.
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
