Where and when did the Septuagint originate?

The Septuagint originated in Alexandria, Egypt, at a seminary of sorts, when Jewish scholars came together about 300 years before Christ and translated the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek. It was a valid translation, and Jesus quoted from it repeatedly.

Les explains that Apollos was born in Alexandria in Egypt, where there was a seminary of sorts. That is where the Septuagint originated: Jewish scholars came together about 300 years before Christ and translated the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek. Les considers it a valid translation because Jesus quoted from it over and over, and He would not have done so if it were a forgery. Apollos came out of that same area of intellectual Hebrews and was an eloquent man with the gift of oratory.
