What does it mean to not be under the Law?

This means the ritual and stipulations of Israel's Law and the demands of Judaism have been set aside, so sin no longer has dominion. Believers are now under Grace, not license, and love fulfills the Law. The old Adam cannot rule over those under Grace.

Les explains that Romans 6:14 says the old Adam, or sin, shall not have dominion over you because you are not under the Law but under Grace. He clarifies that this means we are not under the ritual and stipulations of the Law of Israel, nor under the demands of Judaism; that has all been set aside, and we are now under Grace. Yet he repeatedly stresses that Grace is not license. In the same context, love operating in daily experience fulfills the Law, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the Law. This is the complete difference between Law and Grace that many had never realized.

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
