What does it mean that believers are not under the Law but under Grace?

Romans 6:14 declares that sin shall not have dominion because believers are not under the Law but under Grace. This means they are not under the ritual, stipulations, and demands of Judaism; those have been set aside. Grace is not license, and love in daily experience fulfills the Law.

Les explains Romans 6:14 in light of the complete difference between Law and Grace. He teaches that when Paul says sin, or the old Adam, shall not have dominion, the reason is that believers are not under the Law but under Grace. This does not mean they are under the ritual and stipulations of the Law of Israel or the demands of Judaism; all that has been set aside. They are now under Grace. But Les stresses that Grace is not license. Earlier he connects this to love: do not defraud or take advantage of others, but love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the Law. Love operating in daily experience is all it takes to fulfill the Law. So being under Grace means freedom from the Law's ritual and stipulations, not freedom to sin.

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
