Les Feldick Bible Study

What does it mean to make God your priority in life?

Making God your priority means living as one set apart for His use, set apart from ordinary purposes, and seeking first the Kingdom of Heaven. God comes first, and then all other things can be added or take their rightful place under Him. It is practical Christian living, not oddball extremism.

Les teaches that just as the Temple instruments were set apart for Temple use and nothing else, believers are a set-apart people. This does not put them out in oddball or left field, but in God's mind it designates them as people of the Book who live to please Him first. Les explains that this comes down to priority: you have to set your priorities and ask what is most important in your life. The Scriptures teach, even back to Christ's earthly ministry, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven, and then all these other things can be added unto you." Priority says God first, and then other things can come into their rightful place. Les also notes that this is your reasonable service, and that the last four chapters of Romans are simply practical Christian living—common and ordinary.

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
