Les Feldick Bible Study

What has God committed to believers, and what does that make them?

God has committed to believers the word of reconciliation, entrusting them with the message that He was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Because of this commission, believers are made ambassadors, carrying out God's bidding while in foreign territory.

Les teaches that reconciliation means taking two parties who have been alienated and at odds, and bringing them back into fellowship. The world is set aside from God, at odds with Him and enemies of God, yet God has done everything possible to reconcile them to Himself. God was in Christ on the cross, reconciling the whole world unto Himself and not imputing their trespasses. He has committed unto us this word of reconciliation, and as such we are ambassadors, to carry out God's bidding while in foreign territory. The work of the cross was the reconciling of the whole world; Christ tasted death for every man, not just the few believers, but the whole human race.

2 Corinthians 5:19
