Why should we thank God for being under Christian influence?

Les teaches that as Paul carried the Gospel across the Aegean Sea into Greece, the Gospel went to Europe, and Europe became the breeding ground for inventions, men of science, and technology that later came to America. He explains that Western civilization's higher standard of living is tied to Christianity, because Christianity set people free. It loosed them from the superstitions of the pagan world, from hang-ups, and from the detriment to women. By contrast, pagan religions keep their people subservient, ignorant, and superstitious. Therefore, we should thank the Lord that we have been brought under Christian influence rather than under those pagan religions. Les says history books confirm this plainly, though people often do not stop to think about it.
