Will the whole nation of Israel one day be saved like Paul was on the road to Damascus?

Yes. Scripture indicates the whole nation of Israel will one day experience a salvation like Paul’s Damascus road encounter, suddenly recognizing Jesus for who He is. Zechariah says they will look on Him whom they pierced and mourn, and Isaiah says the nation will be born in a day.

Les explains that Paul likens himself to the whole nation of Israel. Paul was born as a preemie, which means that at some future date—remember, a thousand years with God is just a day—the whole nation of Israel is going to experience the same kind of salvation Paul did on the road to Damascus. Les notes that Zechariah tells us they will look on Him whom they pierced and mourn for Him as one for an only child, because the nation will suddenly understand who Jesus really is. Isaiah 66 says the nation will be born in a day. Israel is set aside, blind, and God is dealing with the Gentiles, but Israel is still in God’s program and will yet experience her greatest glory. Les also recalls Acts 1, where the disciples asked Jesus if He would restore the kingdom to Israel again, thinking of Solomon’s glory, and Jesus did not ridicule them.

Romans 11:1

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
