When will the nation of Israel be saved in a day?

Israel will be saved in a day when they see the returning Christ in all His power and glory. The remnant will suddenly recognize Him as the one they had crucified, fulfilling Zechariah’s prophecy that they will look on Him whom they pierced and mourn.

Les explains that when they see the returning Christ in all His power and glory, the Old Testament asks whether a nation shall be saved in a day, and the answer is yes. The little nation of Israel, specifically the remnant, will suddenly realize that He was the one they had crucified. Les points to Zechariah 12:10, where God says He will pour upon the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplications, and they shall look upon Me whom they pierced and mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son. He also points to Zechariah 13:6, where Christ answers that He was wounded in the house of His friends.

Zechariah 12:10

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Zechariah 13:6

And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
