Who does God use to promote His salvation?

God ordained from the beginning that He would use human beings—believers, preachers, and proclaimers—to promote His salvation, not angels. Every believer is expected to be a minister of reconciliation and an ambassador for Christ, sharing the Word with those who have not heard or understood.

Les teaches that God has ordained from the beginning of the human race to use human beings to promote His salvation, whether in the Old Testament or the New. Very seldom has anyone found salvation entirely alone, without the benefit of another human being. God arranged that His Word should be promoted by humans, not left in the hands of angels, though He could have done so. Paul therefore says in 2 Corinthians 5 that every believer is expected to be a minister of reconciliation and an ambassador for Christ. God expects us to share what we know with those who have never heard or understood. Paul asks how they can hear or believe without someone, and how they can hear without a preacher or proclaimer. Les emphasizes that we have to be used of God, and he points back to Acts 16.

Romans 10:14

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Why does God use people to preach the gospel instead of doing it Himself?

Scripture teaches that people cannot believe unless someone proclaims the message, and God has chosen to use human instruments to do that proclaiming.
