How does a person enter into salvation?

A person enters into salvation by faith, not by works or public confession. Upon trusting in Christ, the new birth occurs, bringing forgiveness, sanctification, glorification, baptism into the Body, and indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Confessing Jesus as Lord then follows naturally as Christ becomes Lord of the believer’s life.

Les explains that entering salvation is by faith, not by Lordship Salvation, which he feels smacks of works. He notes that when we enter in by faith, we experience the new birth and become a child of God, receiving forgiveness, sanctification, glorification, baptism into the Body, and indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Then Christ becomes Lord of our life, which follows as naturally as daylight follows dark. Paul says if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, but Les does not feel this means a person must give a public testimony before a congregation to be recognized as a believer. Rather, when you have entered into a salvation experience, you will not keep it to yourself.
