What did God promise immediately after Adam and Eve fell?
Immediately after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and fell under the curse, God promised a Redeemer. That promise is Genesis 3:15. It shows redemption was set in motion as soon as sin entered, preceding the covenants given to Israel’s patriarchs.
Les explains that Adam and Eve had just eaten of the forbidden fruit, had fallen, and had sinned against their God, which God knew they would do. Immediately, as soon as they fell and plunged everything under the curse, God promised a Redeemer. Les identifies that promise as Genesis 3:15. This fits with Paul’s reference to what Israel had enjoyed, the covenants given to the patriarchs, but Les says it goes further back to Genesis chapter 3 and the redemption of creation.
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
