What did God promise to do immediately after Adam and Eve fell?

Immediately after Adam and Eve fell, God promised to set in motion the coming of the seed of the woman. He declared enmity between the serpent and the woman, and between their seeds. Scripture identifies this promised seed as Christ, the first voicing of His promised coming.

Les explains that Genesis 3:15 records the Lord conversing with the devil right after Adam and Eve fell. God says He will put enmity between the devil and the woman, and between the devil’s seed and her seed. The key word is seed—the seed of the woman. Les points out that Galatians tells us plainly who the seed of the woman is: Christ. This is where His promised coming is first voiced, and God’s first promise after the fall is that He will set in motion the coming of the seed of the woman.

Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
