What does a believer have with the Father when he sins?

When a believer sins, he has an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. This advocate represents believers before God, even though believers remain subject to sin and Satan accuses them day and night. The advocate is Jesus Christ.

Les explains that if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He warns believers not to think they are not subjected to sin, and he points to Revelation 12:10, where Satan is the accuser of the brethren, accusing believers before God day and night. If it were impossible for a believer to sin, Satan would have nothing to accuse them of. Les notes that while he has never known a true believer who decides to get drunk, commit adultery, or default somebody, it can happen, so a believer must be constantly on guard. As long as we are in this body of flesh, we are prone to fall. The believer's advocate with the Father is Jesus Christ the righteous.
