Who is the believer's advocate when he sins?

When a believer sins, the advocate is Jesus Christ the Righteous. Scripture says in I John chapter 2 verse 1 that we have an advocate with the Father, and He intercedes on our behalf. He is there continually, and all three persons of the Trinity work for believers.

Les explains that when any man sins, we have an advocate, an intercessor, someone interceding for us to the Father. In I John 2:1, the advocate with the Father is Jesus Christ the Righteous. Les points out He is there 24 hours a day, every day of the year. He also notes the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf, so all three persons of the Trinity are involved in our prayer line, constantly working for us. Even though a million believers may approach the throne at any moment, God hears each one individually; He searches the hearts and knows the mind of the Spirit. This gives assurance that He hears us and knows all about us.
