What advocate do believers have with the Father when they sin?

Believers have Jesus Christ the righteous as their advocate with the Father when they sin. Revelation 12 shows Satan accusing believers before God day and night, proving that sin remains possible, yet the righteous Christ serves as their advocate for them.

Les teaches that if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He points to Revelation chapter 12, verse 10, where Satan, the accuser of the brethren, is cast down and accuses believers before God day and night. Since Satan has something to accuse them of, it is not impossible for a believer to sin. Les stresses that believers are subjected to sin and must be constantly on guard, though a true believer does not deliberately decide to get drunk, commit adultery, or default somebody. As long as we are in this body of flesh, we are prone to fall.
