What does it mean to take God at His Word in faith?

Taking God at His Word in faith means trusting Scripture as documented evidence, not blind credulity, and accepting what God has spoken even beyond human comprehension. By faith believers understand the universe was framed by the Word of God, spoken into being, with visible things made from nothing.

Les explains that faith is not blind; it is documented by the Word of God, which has enough evidence to remove doubt. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Through faith—by simply taking God at His Word—believers understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. He spoke, and it came into being. The unbeliever cannot comprehend this, but the believer can. Creation is still moving further and further because God is infinite, and visible, tangible things were not made out of things that appear; everything created came out of nothing.

Hebrews 11:3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
