How should believers live because Christ died for them?

Because Christ died for all, believers should no longer live unto themselves but unto Him who died for them and rose again. The love of Christ constrains them, so they live for the One who died for them, not for themselves.

Les explains that the love of Christ constrains, or drives, the believer. He points to 2 Corinthians 5:14-15: if one died for all, then all were spiritually dead; and He died for all so that those who live should not live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again. Les calls this the Gospel. He also ties it to Romans 8 and Ephesians 1: believers are in Christ, no condemnation, forgiven all trespasses, a new creation, and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Thus, because Christ died and rose, believers live for Him rather than for self.

2 Corinthians 5:15

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
