How should believers live since Christ died and rose for them?
Believers who have believed the Gospel and become spiritually alive should no longer live unto themselves. Instead, they are to live unto Him who died for them and rose again, because Christ paid the price and died substitutionally on their behalf.
Les explains from II Corinthians 5:15 that since Christ died for all, believers should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again. He notes that not everyone will enjoy the results of His death because they have not believed it. For those who have believed the Gospel and become spiritually alive, this new life is to be lived for the One who died and rose again. Hebrews 2 adds that Jesus was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, and by God's grace tasted death for every man, dying substitutionally on their behalf. Les also says God does not expect every believer to suffer as Paul did.
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
